About Us

The first one third of 2026 has flown by! Our Nashville group has admired treasure box pieces stitched by members over the last two years, heard from several members about their stitching journeys, learned about different types of cross stitches, learned about kimono making and how metallic fabric is made, and more. 

So far this year, our Shelbyville group, comprised of full Cheekwood members...just with an additional meeting each month, has stitched bookmarks for local school children, stitched and finished some patriotic Christmas ornaments with which to decorate a tree for the community, and heard a fascinating history of Blackwork. 

In June, July and August, our members will be displaying some of their pieces in the Master's Common room at Calvary Methodist Church. 

If you would like to be part of this stitching community, please join us in Nashville on the 4th Thursday at Calvary Methodist Church, and/or in Shelbyville on the 3rd Saturday at First Christian Church.

In the event of inclement weather, the Nashville meetings will follow the metro Nashville school system plan. If the schools are closed, Cheekwood will not meet.
