Shelbyville Satellite Group

The Shelbyville Satellite Group is a sanctioned extension of the of the main Nashville Cheekwood Chapter group, accommodating needlework enthusiasts who are not able to meet during the work week or live closer to the Shelbyville area. Members of the Cheekwood Chapter and visitors with a love of needlework are welcome to join us. The meetings are held every 3rd Saturday of the month at First Christian Church, 309 Madison Street, Shelbyville, TN 37160, from 9am -12pm (except in December). After the structured meeting, which includes business, announcements and a "show and tell" segment, there is normally a program, with a project, which is different than the Nashville meetings – members are welcome to attend both the Nashville and Shelbyville meetings. After the meeting participants usually enjoy lunch at the church (potluck, bring your own or get something at the nearby fast food places, depending on the month) and then stitch for a while.  Projects of the satellite include decorating a Christmas tree at one of the local banks each year with hand stitched ornaments, making bookmarks for second grade students in Bedford County schools and stitching Habitat for Humanity samplers.  The Shelbyville Satellite leader for 2024 - 2025 is Pat Embree  who can be reached at info@egacheekwood.org.
